Welcome!

We are David and Karen Hoogland. We became interested in learning the art of stained glass when we were remodeling our kitchen back in 1997. Karen wanted a stained glass panel made for one of the corner cabinets. When we discovered the panel would cost nearly $400, we jokingly asked the woman who gave us the estimate if we couldn't just take a class in making the design. She told us, "Sure!" That summer, David took classes in the craft. In the summer of 2001, Karen also took the classes.

Over the past five years, we have made many designs for our home, as well as for gifts. About three years ago, David made some scouting related designs to donate to a silent auction. Requests soon came in for personalized items, such as those displayed on the two scouting pages (listed to your left).

In 2001, we created our first 3 Boy Glassworks website. Our first out-of-state order came from a Girl Scout Leader in Baton Rouge Louisianna!

David and Karen are parents to three sons. All of the boys are active in Boy Scouts of America. The boys keep Karen very busy during the day with homeschooling activities. They keep David busy in the evenings with Scouting activities!

We have added a section on our site for fundraising. Last September, we started a new Boy Scout Troop. We have been selling stained glass pieces to benefit the troop. Visit our Fund Raising Catalog page to see the pieces available.
